It's not uncommon for autistic people to be accused of emotional manipulation. Autistic social communication generally lacks the unspoken emotional messages that neurotypical people rely on. So neurotypical people imagine them. They "read into" autistic communication emotional meanings that are not intended. I have experienced this many, many times. It leads to serious misunderstandings and enormous distress on both sides.

If you perceive an autistic person as emotionally manipulative, you are not hearing what they are actually saying.
