As schools in 🇨🇲 prepare to reopen next week, students of #GBHS Bamenda will return to a transformed learning environment.
Through the #PPRD_NW_SW, implemented by @PNUDCameroun🇨🇲, the rehabilitation of the school has restored 27 inclusive classrooms and provided 810 benches, teachers' tables and chairs, gender-sensitive toilets, paved walkways, a dining shed, and other essential infrastructure.
Beyond the physical improvements, this intervention is helping create a safer, more inclusive, and conducive environment where students can learn and grow.
Let me ask you something…
When you hear the words Gender-Based Violence, what comes to your mind?
If you immediately think of physical assault, you're right but that's not the whole story.
Understanding what GBV looks like is important because we cannot prevent something we don't recognize.
So join me and other Online UN Volunteers during the next 12 weeks in the Amplify Against GBV: Digital Voices for Change in Cameroon campaign.
We'll be having important conversations about GBV, prevention, support and what each of us has to contribute to fix our society
What comes to your mind when you hear “Gender-Based Violence”? Tell me in the comments.

#PPRD-NW/SW: Women are not just part of the recovery, they are building it.
Across the #NW/SWRegions of 🇨🇲, women are rolling up their sleeves and working alongside men to rebuild schools, health centres, water systems and other essential infrastructure under the #PPRD-NW/SW.
They are breaking barriers, challenging stereotypes and proving that rebuilding communities is a shared responsibility. Every structure completed reflects their skill, dedication and resilience.
Their work is doing more than restoring infrastructure, it is creating stronger, more inclusive and more resilient communities, where women are recognized not just as beneficiaries, but as builders, leaders and drivers of recovery.
At the #NationalYouthEconomicForum, @PNUDCameroun reaffirmed that young people are not beneficiaries of development; they are drivers of development.
Opening the forum, our DRR, @Mharthansen, emphasized the need to unlock young people’s potential by expanding access to #Finance, #Innovation, #Skills, and inclusive opportunities, while advancing #GenderEquality and creating an enabling environment where talent, merit, #Entrepreneurship, and equal opportunities for young women and men can thrive.
Together with the Government, the private sector, and development partners, UNDP remains committed to empowering #YoungPeople and building a more inclusive, gender-equal, and prosperous Cameroon.
