All in all, I am pretty happy with the polls being consistently close. After two cycles of clear expectations that did not meet with reality, not having to do that again feels a bit liberating.
Final CNN/SSRS poll: 47-47
Final NYT/Siena poll: 48-48
F&M changing its final PA LV screener from 2020 to have a split outcome (Harris winning RVs/Trump winning LVs)
I'm not yet ready to say pollsters are herding toward a tie to try to cover their asses, but they're on notice
Aw yeah, now we have poll aggregator aggregators! Gotta remember to take the average of poll average averages.
(I really do love this stuff even though it makes my head hurt.)
After having made our poll aggregator, I am now a bit more confused at why my replies are full of criticism for @NateSilver538’s aggregator numbers.
No matter how you slice it, you’ll get something very similar. Our average is generally more Republican right now than his is.
Sitting in the Denver airport waiting to complete my red eye to Philly so I can go straight to the convention center and present my APSA paper at 8am. And there are baby rats running around the boarding area. My travel agent sucks (it's me).
A Johns Hopkins study found a surgeon performs the wrong procedure on a patient 20 times a week and operates on the wrong body site 20 times a week. https://t.co/tcdjLpS2oX
Hmm...quite the favorability/vote choice split here. Trying to imagine the voter who has a favorable opinion of Harris, a negative one on Trump, yet is still voting Trump.
