This is me right now. Two years ago I was shot during the June 25 Gen Z protests. I've been living with a spinal cord injury since, and I self-catheterize because of neurogenic bladder.

That led to recurring UTIs and sepsis. Today I successfully underwent surgery at Emory Hospital Nairobi to remove a bladder stone at my left vesico-ureteric junction (5x7mm). The fragments were removed. I'm recovering now with some pain and bleeding, which the doctors say is normal.

@VOCALAfrica_ helped me get here, and I'm grateful. But I still need medication, physiotherapy and follow-up care. I still haven't received any government compensation.

Today, I want Kenya to remember Caroline Ngumbu.

Caroline was only 21 years old.

She had just completed her studies at KMTC Karen and was preparing for her graduation.

She had a whole life ahead of her.

Then came that terrible night in 2017.

She was found dead alongside Chris Msando, the @IEBCKenya ICT manager whose death shook the country just days before the presidential election.

And today, I have questions for William Ruto.

Why did Chris Msando have to die?

What did he know?

What did his position at IEBC expose?

Who was afraid of what he could reveal?

In 2017, the Jubilee administration was fighting desperately to retain power.

William Ruto was Uhuru Kenyatta's deputy and one of the most powerful figures in that government.

The election was fiercely contested, and Kenya was already carrying the scars of the 2007–08 post-election violence.

So let Kenya ask the uncomfortable question:

Was there a political interest in eliminating Chris Msando before the election?

If the answer is YES, who planned the death of Chris Msando?

If there was nothing to hide, why has the full truth surrounding his death remained so elusive?

And what about Caroline?

A 21-year-old woman who should have been preparing for graduation instead became part of one of Kenya's darkest political mysteries.

Who killed Caroline?

Who killed Msando?

Who ordered it?

Who knew?

Who benefited?

Political power cannot be allowed to become a shield against accountability.

President Ruto, history remembers where you stood in 2017.

You were not a spectator.

You were Deputy President in the government that was fighting to secure Uhuru Kenyatta's second term.

Kenyans therefore have every right to ask you: Why did Chris Msando have to die?

We cannot keep asking these questions only when elections approach.

Caroline had a name. Msando had a family. Both had futures.

Kenya still deserves the truth.

Moses Kuria supervised the abduction, torture and murder of Chris Msando.

Ruto said they were protecting power.
