To top it off, the translation of some parts are just flat out wrong. Like when Hikaru intentionally pulls in his opponent with what looks like a mistake, the translation is: "[Hikaru] made a mistake and somehow managed to turn it into a good one."

As I'm rewatching the dubbed version of #HikaruNoGo, I can't help but notice that a lot of the mannerisms and subtleties from the Japanese version are gone. 😢
@iamdeadinside@alireyns Oh I've read it like 20+ times. Hahaha. I have to say that I think the reason I reach for the anime more often is because I can let it run in the background when I'm doing other stuff. Plus, the voice acting (in the original one) is amazing!
