@conorsen It depends on what level they want to play. For soccer at the highest level kids are flying cross country, take a step down and they are traveling GA, FL, AL, SC, NC and TN. Next step down is within a couple of hours of Atlanta.
@jrobhaha@FalcoholicKevin@Everett_G07 Because the salary cap is going up every year, cap in future years doesn't hurt as much as cap now. Unused cap in a year just rolls over to the next year.
@bwfast Americans are accustomed to watching the best in the world playing the sports they watch. While there are a few very good MLS players, as a whole, is not even a top 10 league in the world.
@RoaringHammy It also depends on whether there are heirs that need the money. Pensions can typically not be passed on to children while the $1 million can.
@Abomination81 Did you not pay taxes on your $25,600 annual increase? What about investment fees? Your plan quickly falls apart if there is a down month in your investment (which there has been about 1/3 of the time in the S&P 500 over the last 10 years)
@MSUCR Congress and the President should be the ones responsive to modern social needs by passing and enacting laws since they are both accountable to voters. We do not want the Judiciary with their lifetime appointments and non-accountability doing what you suggest.
@AzPetrich You need to go back to why each amendment was needed. 2nd amendment was needed to ensure that citizens had the right to defend themselves against a tyrannical government. 14th amendment was written to make clear that freed slaves were citizens.
@BowTieSportsGuy There is a huge difference between soccer and football and the stresses the field must endure. Soccer players are all under 220 pounds. The game is spread out while football is concentrated in the middle of the field.
@CThomasRadio So what would be your game plan if he has a repeat of last year? Franchise tag him for $18 million guaranteed, or let him walk and maybe get a compensatory pick in 2028?
@MarkZinno Why the hurry to pay Bijan? Falcons have him this year for $7 million and next year for $11.3. Followed by potentially two franchise tags. Paying Drake and Kyle decreased their cap hits this year and next. Paying Bijan will do the opposite.
@maxtoscano1 Brenton Strange got less because he was only going to cost the Jaguars $1.5 million this year. The Falcons were already going to pay Pitts $15 million this year and were staring at a 2nd tag for $18 million if he has a decent season.
@steakshapiro Look at Drake London's contract as an example. He gets $24.8 million in cash this year and $18 million next year but his cap hit this year went down from $16.8 million to $7.9 million and next year its only $11.3 million.
Ian Cunningham learned well from Howie Roseman.
@steakshapiro Signing him now is all about cap management and control. He was already guaranteed $15 million this year. If he has a decent season this year, the Falcons are going to franchise tag him a second time for another $18 million. So $33 million over two years.
@steakshapiro This deal guarantees him $36 million but gives us control for a total of 4 years. My expectation is that if he doesn't perform, than we can cut him after 2027. In addition, I expect the next 2 years to be much friendly to our cap. Probably saving us $14 million over 2 tags.
@680TheFan@HometeamBleak@BFinn86 2/2 With the new deal, his salary cap this year is likely dropping from $15 million this year to under $7 million. Next year his cap hit instead of being $18 million is likely to be under $12 million. By being proactive, the Falcons have an extra $14 million in cap space.
@680TheFan@HometeamBleak@BFinn86 1/2 Salary cap is the reason the deal was done now. The guaranteed money he got is effectively the franchise tag he already signed, plus another tag next spring (which he would have gotten with a repeat of last year).
@AdamCarollaShow When Bernie says we are an oligarchy he is saying that Congress and the Senate are controlled by rich people who manipulate Representatives for their own ends.
