The annual “Combat Homelessness Raffle” took place in the College today Thursday December 14th 2017. The €1,423.67 raised will go to three charities that are tackling the homelessness crisis on a daily basis, The Simon Community, Focus Ireland and The Peter McVerry Trust.
Last night, many musicians turned up at the gates of Leinster House to shine a light on homelessness in Ireland. Glen Hansard was among a number of musicians performing to raise awareness of the homeless crisis in the country. Please support our monster raffle!
The raffle is the last leg of a very successful ‘Run for Life’ 2017 Campaign. Please watch Pat Kenny interview the Irish homeless. You will see that through circumstance, chance and downright bad luck many people face the harsh Irish winter on the streets. https://t.co/qpUW3hwlZz
Another charity benefitting from our "Combat Homelessness Raffle" is The Peter McVerry Trust. Peter McVerry Trust is a charity set up by Fr Peter Mc Verry to reduce homelessness and the harm caused by drug misuse and social disadvantage. https://t.co/BMSpoSbwJX
Another charity benefitting from our "Combat Homelessness Raffle" is the Simon Community. Just last year the Simon Community increased their work by 30% helping 5,100 individuals and families. Check out the video below! https://t.co/opX7T9rUbK
