It’s wrong to attack this young Igbo-American soldier for just saying that he’s an Igbo-American, or that he’s an Igbo before being a Nigerian. Ethnic or racial identity is an inherent foundation of self-conception, whereas national citizenship is an administrative and legal framework overlaying that identity. This is what Awolowo meant when he called Nigeria a “mere geographical expression”.
Just as an American is white, Black, or Asian before adopting a national civic identity, an individual is born Igbo before becoming Nigerian. Identity is ancestral and intrinsic; nationhood is modern and political. Shaming someone for recognizing this fundamental sequence confuses biological and cultural heritage with civic duty.
Acknowledging one's primary ethnic origin does not negate patriotism or national loyalty. It simply recognizes that cultural identity precedes, shapes, and enriches one's civic citizenship within a multi-ethnic state.
Therefore, for this young man to strongly identify with his Igbo ancestry before anything else is a wise step to rectifying the costly mistake of the past when Igbos tried to be more Nigerian than being Igbo. It alienated the British from the Igbo and cost General Ironsi his life, plus more.

For the cost of Tinubu's week-long luxury junket in Paris, we could feed and educate more than 2,800 displaced children in Abuja for a full year.
The math: his foreign-trip cap is 20 aides. Put them in the €3,000 rooms reported at The Peninsula Paris, add his ₦12M suite, and it's about ₦107 million a night. Seven nights is ₦752 million. Our cost per child is $200 a year.
He calls it a "working vacation." They'd settle for a classroom.

I just watched what I believe is part of the smear campaign against me for exposing that Nigerian President Bola #Tinubu is alleged to have been part of a criminal organization that smuggled heroin into the United States during the 1980s and 1990s.
In the attack video, I am referred to as being #MAGA. They meant it as an insult. To Nigeria's President Tinubu his people and agents: I am 100% #Make #America #Great #Again.
America Today. America Tomorrow. America Forever 🇺🇸🇺🇸
@realDonaldTrump@Republicans@GOP
These Benue protesters and thugs that barricaded and stopped Peter Obi from entering Benue, let me ask you: When will you barricade the terrorists that have been killing thousands in your state? Or is it only when it comes to the Igbo? This is how you messed yourselves up in the Civil War.
Hey @DCIGroup@SecureNigeriaHQ
What’s the matter — cat got your tongue?
You're banking $750,000 a month. Up till the other day, you were posting up a storm.
Then the story goes viral that I’m your #1 target — street cred I could never buy. I get more calls than ever for interviews and briefings.
Now days of radio silence.
Did @NuhuRibadu yank the leash? Or did your social media intern just close the laptop?
They’ve paid you $9 million to make me a folk hero.
Your incompetence is showing, you blood-money stained, lying scumbags.
Keep hiding. Your silence speaks volumes.

We absolutely CANNOT remove the CPC designation from Nigeria while radical Islamic terrorists continue this horrific violence against Christians.
@AsstSecStateAF is right. The Nigerian government must meet its commitments to protect innocent Christian communities.
@MikeArnoldTruth Believe me! US🇺🇲 will surely compromise on this case.
Since US🇺🇲 withdrew it soldiers from Nigeria without ending the Christian genocide..... I can never trust them anymore.
Check out the professional manner with which Ojy Okpe & Rufai Oseni handled the US Congressman’s call to #FreeNnamdiKanu. They deftly zeroed-in on the core issue: Selective injustice when it comes to the IGBO. To be sure, this matter is never going away until justice is served.
Somewhere in Abuja, a government official in NSA Nuhu Ribadu's office wrote a check for $9 million to a Washington firm called DCI Group. Four and a half million up front. To fix Nigeria's image in America.
I have seen what they got for it, because the law makes them file the work. Buckle up.
A clip-art tree. A Canva flyer. AI cartoons that look like they were ordered off a gas-station menu. Email blasts with the engagement of a dial tone. I started #DCIRefund yesterday after they dropped a meme so cheap I assumed it was a parody account run by a bored teenager. Nope. That is the deliverable. Nine million dollars, and the creative budget apparently went to one guy and a free trial of Canva.
But the crown jewel is their star witness. DCI is very upset that I "smeared an independent journalist." Independent. Hold my coffee.
Their independent journalist went on a guided stooge tour and came back with copy so glowing you would think Nigeria was a spa retreat. Garden of Eden stuff. Meanwhile 1,402 people were massacred. And the funniest part — the part their own federal filing coughs up in black and white — is that "independent" comes with a price tag. More than $54,000 of Nigeria's money, one line labeled, and I am not making this up, "Retainer."
That is the whole campaign in one word. They paid for independence and forgot to delete the receipt.
So Nigeria's government pays a guy to write the brochure, pays a firm to email it around, and the dangerous one in this story is the missionary who never took a dime. Got it. Makes total sense. Airtight.
They were just getting warmed up. They also put Roger Stone on the payroll as a "consultant" — because nothing says "we are the credible ones" like Roger Stone. And they spent good money mailing out dinner invitations with Nigeria's First Lady, like a Beltway version of a timeshare pitch. Come for the brie and chablis, stay for the perception management.
When all that failed, they reached into the bottom of the barrel and pulled out a debunked, decades-old political hit against a pastor I am proud to call my friend. That is not opposition research. That is a firm out of ideas billing by the hour.
And here is the kicker. After $9 million, the posts get no clicks, the memes get ratioed, and the whole thing reads like it was reverse-engineered to embarrass the client. They are betting President Trump cannot tell the difference between his own supporters and a paid foreign front. The President reads people for a living. He has seen smoother operators than this at a flea market.
Here is a thought, since math is clearly not their strong suit. For that same $9 million, I could teach and feed 45,000 displaced children for a year. My friend Alex Barbir — another one they keep smearing — could build more than 6,000 houses for them. Real roofs over real heads.
Even with your sociopathic, evil little hearts, surely you can run the numbers on that one. Feeding children and building houses gets you better press, better international relations, and a better showing at the polls than flushing the money down the swamp toilet in Washington for amateur hit-pieces and boring AI graphics. Worth a try? Or is the grift the whole point.
The contract is up for renewal this month. So here is my professional advice to whoever signed it, free of charge — which is already a better deal than DCI gave you: get your money back. You can buy a lot with $9 million. Clearly not talent. Definitely not the truth. And apparently not even a decent meme.

APC SENATOR WITH SUSPECTED BOKO HARAM LINKS ATTACKS YOUTH LEADER FOR SPEAKING TRUTH ABOUT NGOSHE
A young Borno man named Samaila Kaigama, president of the Borno South Youth Alliance, told the public last week that the Nigerian military's "rescue" of 360 Boko Haram captives on June 6 was not a rescue at all. It was a ransom payment. Christian women and children were left behind. Muslims came home.
Christians who returned came home in hijab, forcibly converted. Four infants died in the mountains. Approximately one hundred Christian girls remain in Boko Haram captivity, with an Islamic teacher now appointed to indoctrinate them.
The man attacking him for saying so is Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume of the All Progressives Congress — Tinubu's own party — who has represented Borno South for the entire Boko Haram era.
That fact alone should give you pause.
The man defending the regime's version of events on Ngoshe was arrested by Nigeria's own Department of State Services in 2011 on suspected links to Boko Haram.
That is not allegation. That is federal record.
Here is what the senator said in a Hausa-language WhatsApp voice message circulating in Borno.
"Even this morning, he was still making those claims, trying to make it look as if he was the one responsible for rescuing our people, instead of our soldiers, who were the ones that actually made the effort — especially our brigade commander in Gwoza. So, youths of Gwoza, on all platforms you should come out and issue a disclaimer saying that you do not know anyone by the name of Ibrahim Samaila Kai Gama... He was the one who brought up the idea that five billion should be paid... As far as I am concerned, these are the actions of a 419-type fraudster... Otherwise, I have never heard of bandits or terrorists making demands in naira. I have also never heard of them making demands through some middleman instead of through the Red Cross or international organizations."
Now let us pick that apart.
One. "I have never heard of bandits or terrorists making demands in naira." Chibok. Dapchi. Kankara. Kuriga. St. Mary's. Every Nigerian mass-kidnapping release of the past decade has involved naira ransom. A senior senator from Borno South cannot honestly say he has never heard of this. He said it anyway.
Two. "Through some middleman instead of through the Red Cross." Every Nigerian terrorist hostage negotiation of the past ten years has gone through Nigerian intermediaries, not the Red Cross. The senator is describing a system that does not exist.
Three. Kaigama is running for Senator Ndume's Senate seat. The voice message is the senator using his federal platform to silence his electoral rival at the precise moment that rival is contradicting the regime's preferred narrative.
Four. The truth Kaigama is telling does not depend on Kaigama. Professor Audu Idriss of the University of Maiduguri, a native of Ngoshe, confirmed to Truth Nigeria that most of the returned captives are not from Ngoshe. A Christian cleric in Pulka confirmed that the women returning in hijab were forcibly converted in captivity. The story stands without Kaigama.
Five. The senator credits "our brigade commander in Gwoza" with rescuing the captives. The captives were held three kilometers from a Nigerian military base for months. Either the brigade commander is celebrated for finding what was sitting three kilometers from his own perimeter — or somebody paid for the release and is now laundering it as a rescue.
You decide.
The Christian girls of Ngoshe are still in the mountains. One of them is Annabelle Katala. Annabelle was abducted and was forced to bear a child by her captor. She is still up there. Four infants are in graves on those slopes. And the APC senator with a record of suspected Boko Haram links is on a WhatsApp voice message demanding the youth of Gwoza disavow the man telling the truth.
The truth will come out. It always does.
Pray for Ngoshe. Pray for Annabelle.

The Nigerian military is taking credit for “rescuing” some 400 hostages released by Boko Haram in Ngoshe.
That is a lie, of course. Here is the word from eyewitnesses on the ground.
Soldiers delivered ransom to Boko Haram, said to be somewhere between 3 and 5 billion naira.
Only Muslim hostages were released. The Christian women and children remain in captivity.
They were being held in a village named Gavva at the shadow of Mandara Mountain, three kilometers away from the military base in Ngoshe.
That is not a rescue. That is complicity, and a wealth transfer to their terrorist comrades. It is also proof and a continuation of the ongoing Christian genocide.
This is video of the Muslim women and children being returned.

We Remember Our Fallen Heroes Today.
Dear Igbo Nation, today marks 56 years since we tragically lost over 4.5 million Igbo brothers and sisters to the Nigerian–Biafran War. They gallantly fought and died so that we might live. 🕊️
Let's Retweet in their memory. 🙏
Step one. I hold a briefing.
Step two. Ribadu rushes to Washington and offers them a juicy target for damage control.
Step three. Trump bombs the terrorists.
It’s happened twice now.
Do you think I should keep doing briefings?
