👉 Dr John Rae, a highly experienced Arctic explorer from the Orkney Islands, had evidence of cannibalism by the Franklin Expedition. Publicly attacked by Charles Dickens because the truth conflicted with Victorian pride. Dickens was wronged - morally, factually, and culturally
Charles Dickens wrote on of the most famous Christmas stories of all time - A Christmas Carol
He was struck by personal tragedy in the Christmas of 1863 when his own son died of smallpox
Fortuntately, vaccines have since wiped that particular scourge off the face of the earth!
@LizWebsterSBF@Eyeswideopen69 On occasion i assist by turning ever rag - Sun, Daily Fail and Daily Hitler Express around to the sport section so no one wants to buy it. Wonderful to see.
I was watching the Christmas classic "It's a Wonderful Life" from 1947!
They talk about cases of diphtheria..losing hearing to an ear infection..a death from influenza..in just one scene!
All a normal part of life...disastrous infections everywhere...a time before vaccines!
@daniellismore Keep it airtight. “There is no evidence in UK crime statistics, police data, or government reporting of a pattern—or even a documented problem—of trans women sexually assaulting women in public toilets.” - goal is maximum factual robustness 🏳️⚧️
There Are No Recorded Cases of a Trans Woman Sexually Assaulting a Woman in a UK Public Toilet
Turn the so called gender critical narrative on its head and it stops being about trans people at all.
It becomes about suspicion. Control. Policing bodies. Public humiliation. Fear of difference.
UK crime statistics do not show a pattern of trans women sexually assaulting women in public bathrooms. There is no recognised trend in police data. No government report. No policy dataset. Claims used to justify panic rely on anecdotes, misreported cases, or deliberate misclassification, not evidence.
Nothing these campaigns push improves safety. What they actually expand is who gets questioned, challenged, and excluded in public spaces. Tall women. Disabled women. Masculine women. Women who do not perform femininity correctly. Ordinary women going about their lives.
Trans people are not the risk factor here. Bigotry is.
The danger is not who exists. The danger is encouraging the public to decide who belongs based on appearance and prejudice. That logic never stays contained. It spreads. It escalates. It harms the wrong people.
This was never about protecting women. It was about legitimising hostility and calling it concern.
Once you see that, the story collapses.
BREAKING: BBC apologies unconditionally after gay presenter who was “sacked” wins claims he was subjected to unchecked homophobia in the work place.
The investigation found Jack Murley had suffered insults and mockery because he was gay - pointing to failings at “managerial and INSTITUTIONAL level.” Among many incidents, Jack was told it was simply a fact that he was more likely to die of AIDS, while colleagues suggested he use the back entrance because “that’s what poofs do.”
This language comes as no surprise whatsoever to the trans population, which along with the rest of the LGBT+ community, is now seen as the enemy. Fair game.
Even though this investigation involved Culture Secretary @lisaNandy and the highest level of BBC executives, it will all be swept under the carpet and ignored by both @bbcnews and the rest of UK media, due to their ongoing active role in promoting transphobia. Transphobia inevitably bleeds into attacks on gays, lesbians and the rest of the LGBT+ family, because the public are told it’s now ok to talk about us in demeaning and insulting ways. See @bbcnews fresh policy of describing all women who are trans as “biological males who identify as women.”
Well done Jack. Sorry you had to go through this 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 . I’ve included some of Jack’s story below. @RainbowDevils@AttitudeMag
