gmail asks every sender to keep their spam rate under 0.3%, and the cheapest way to stay there is a list of people you never email
your don't-contact list might be the most underrated list you have
save this, you'll want it
every name on it is someone who'd be annoyed to hear from you. a current customer getting a cold pitch. a competitor reading your sequence. someone who already said no
and your ICP won't catch them, because a lot of them fit it perfectly
here's how to build it (it's the one from our haiku guide):
→ current customers, first
→ competitors
→ anyone who opted out
→ wrong roles
→ anything outside your window (the example uses 30 days)
that's it
a few lines in the brief, and the worst emails you could send never get written
you can put most of it into @joinlooply too: each agent leaves out the companies and profiles you list
one condition:
the model has to apply it even when a lead looks amazing. so one line goes in the fit prompt:
"Apply every exclusion in the brief, even when the signal looks great."
the part that made me trust it: in the guide's run, a current customer posted a job for a hubspot admin. strong signal. haiku skipped it, because the brief said no
a great-looking signal is when it's easiest to forget
while everyone keeps polishing their ICP...
the list of people to leave alone is sitting right there
