Steam page & demo for my upcoming game, Charon's Obol, is up! Charon's Obol is a strategy roguelike about playing a coin game with death on a journey across the River Styx. Check it out! https://t.co/NdOIk05yih
@mmgamedev Not sure how I feel about the text popups ("awesome!" etc). Maybe this gif is just not selling it, but they feel a bit 'unearned'.
I do genuinely wish you luck with your game - just trying to share my honest feedback.
@Tagspire Hmm, I like your grappling hook, but the lighting mechanic seems a little off to me. Maybe it is just because it is so close to the character. Perhaps it works better in context, but it feels a bit too 'close' to me in the gif.
@The_Bloodchapel Looking good. I feel like the attack animation is a little quick, though maybe it looks good in context. Do you have a steam page or demo up I can check out?
@jamesloymartin I don't even know what inspired this... what a weird level ending lol
What are you future goals with this project? Seems intriguing....
@ToDeforNotToDef Launch your steam page! You have to start somewhere! The polish looks really good, I like your transitions.
But I can't wishlist the game or download a demo without a Steam page. ;)
@Colorflo14 Very cool!
Have you considered mentioning in your posts that it's an Aesprite plugin? I scrolled past a few times since I wasn't sure what you were making.
@wmcoyne I'll have to check those out! I only got into dungeon crawlers later with the Etrian Odyssey series on DS (showing my age here...). Followed and I look forward to seeing more of your updates!
@albab_kusuma@lewiejpd@objktcom Love the scrolling text and barber pole. Somehow the pixel artworks that just have a few animated aspects always look so cool. Great color palette.
@punkpeace1 Definitely capturing that retro FF vibe. Focus is an interesting name... maybe it's just because of Shin Megami Tensei, but I always think of it as a 'charge' skill rather than a 'taunt'. Have you considered another name?
@MaikaGames I really like your snow effect and the parallax background? It's always the small details, right? Have you considered modifying the Kappa's jump animation a bit more? It looks a little stiff to me right now.
