In wake of the killing of #SonyaMassey, @TheIACP is urging mandatory use of the National Decertification Index. This assumes a state has a robust decert law and that it is implemented well. We helped pass laws in 7 states but also saw states struggle on latter. Let’s fix this.

Although repeated self-harm is a known risk factor for suicide, not everyone who self-harms is suicidal.
The reasons behind self-harm are complex. If you are concerned that someone's self-harm may be linked to thoughts of suicide, the only way to be sure is to ask.❤️

@Rafa_Mangual@BrandondelPozo Can you pls point the definition out? I downloaded the non-peer-reviewed, 23 page-paper and couldn't find a critical discussion or definition of self-defence. Page 9/10 lists the questions and breaks down if FA used or displayed etc...
@Rafa_Mangual@BrandondelPozo Would've wished for the paper to discuss the limitations of the survey and what measures were taken to address these, it only asked if owners used their FA in self-defence, leaving it up to them whatever that means...
@Rafa_Mangual@BrandondelPozo That's how the peer nations ('other jurisdictions') typically done it. Not addressing the issue at the federal level seems to only perpetuate the problem: it keeps the discourse constrained to spurious argumentation, comparing states with states or cities with their peripheries
A truly shocking example of the danger imperative in action. Deputy mistakes an acorn hitting his car for a gunshot and freaks out, screams that he’s hit, and then blasts at a vehicle where a suspect is being held.
Unreal.
@DrLauraHuey Following up on @BrandondelPozo’s reply - sounds like interviews/Delphi-study? Is it data from CICs only or other members of the CICT? Looking forward to read it once the time comes!!
