@saifedean@RichardHeartWin @milpoppe Interesting take. Are you suggesting that pre-1990s Switzerland was a place where (almost?) everyone produced value or that appropriate monetary policy made this requirement moot (insofar as those producing value are appropriately compensated thus a superior performing economy?)
@Joha_wa_alHimar@AwesomelyH@TheStoicEmperor Harmed as in damages (economic or otherwise). I actually suggested removing personal identity from the equation. Sometimes that helps. In this case it did not. As a previous reply caught onto, there is a misunderstanding of meaning here.
@AwesomelyH@TheStoicEmperor Take a step back for a moment and imagine this is not an attack on your own identity. Now imagine the people we are talking about have been harmed in some way. This alone makes it valid notwithstanding the original tweet's assertion to the contrary.
@TheStoicEmperor Except art and culture isn't open source code. Stealing and profiting off it isn't the same thing as appreciation. Seems many people are confused by this? I imagine those claiming cultural appropriation are more concerned with the former not the latter.
