SaaS, app mobile, marketplace.

Measured where every new user of my app came from last month, expecting social to carry it.
chatgpt 72. direct 67. google 15. reddit 11.
x + threads + bluesky combined: 0.
i post on all three daily. good for talking to people. for getting found, ai search and reddit ate it.
There is no good view count on TikTok. There's your median across your last 20 videos, and the gap between it and your best one.
low median, big gap: hook problem, and that outlier is a free experiment you ran.
all 20 on the same number: that's the one worth digging into.
@2lucaso good like ratio at 300 views means the batch never widened. Likes don't widen it, completion does.
the drop is probably the cut from your face to the screen recording. viewers came for a person and got UI. Lead with the demo's best moment in frame one and talk over it.
a tiktok view counts the moment the video starts playing. autoplay counts, rewatches count, there's no minimum watch time.
so views measure chances given, not attention earned. that's why 5k views can be a hit or a total miss.
@Odd1OutStudio the tell is the first frame. a demo opens on a UI or a logo, which asks for patience before it gives anything. the ones that travel open on the result, or on a face reacting to it. same product, same script, different opening second.
Comparing your TikTok views to your Instagram views is measuring with two different rulers. Each platform decides on its own when a play becomes a view, and both changed that rule recently. The only honest comparison is your account against itself over time.
@Johanwave@Sareniia the gap usually isn't one app liking you less, it's who each one shows you to. reels leans on the graph you already have, tiktok drops you in front of strangers with no context every time. same video, one audience knows you and one doesn't.
two accounts hitting the same ceiling tells you something: a penalty wouldn't follow you across both, so it's the content.
look at the spread, not the average. if every video lands on the same number you're failing the first second. if a couple clear 1k, those are your instructions.
'post every day or the algorithm forgets you' wrecks small accounts. you burn ideas on filler, your median drops, and the system reads the average not the effort. three sharp posts beat seven forgettable ones. cadence is vanity, retention is the game.
'am i shadowbanned' is almost always 'my first frame is boring' wearing a costume. tiktok shows every video to a small batch. if they swipe in the first second, it stops there. that's not punishment, that's a cold audience telling you the truth fast.
likes don't widen reach, completion does. 20 likes on 240 views isn't failing, it just never cleared the first batch. people got the payoff in second one and left. watch time is the only vote that buys you more distribution.
the accounts stuck at 0 are the actual finding here, not the ai vs ugc split. an old account with real history gets views on anything you throw at it. a fresh or previously-flagged one stays dead no matter what you upload, because tiktok's classifying the account before it even looks hard at the video. content type barely moves the needle next to that.
@strxwbheart@Sareniia quitting probably saved you the headache but here's what likely happened: tiktok's completion bar moved and your usual videos stopped clearing it. 25k followers never fixes that, only the opening does. ig hasn't caught up to that same bar yet, that's the real gap
