Ben

Someone unplugged the server, and as usual, I was the one to fix it because no one else could have been bothered. I use MacOS 8.6, btw. #yourcursedlife

[Ben @benscriptin]

@Poolio1960 @PubWanghaf You're right, I should be unloading my derision not particularly at her, but at social media algorithms that encourage people like her and the stoner and the rest of them to do this stuff to other people.

[Ben @benscriptin]

Of all the posts I make here, or anywhere else, it's the most unimportant ones that get any visibility. Post real thoughts and ideas, and they're all just ignored, zero engagement or visibility.

Totally blackpilled on social media. Fk this shit.

[Ben @benscriptin]

@johnternus Should have put an iPod touch *in* the trackpad!

[Ben @benscriptin]

Should have put an iPod touch in the trackpad, instead this is just re-warmed windows PC stuff.

[John Ternus @johnternus]

We’re glowing with excitement over the new MacBook Pro. You’ve gotta touch it to believe it.

[Ben @benscriptin]

@dosboxd @jacobtechtavern Yeah. What about it, exactly?

[Ben @benscriptin]

Must. Stay. Strong. And not open Arc.

Have to migrate to Safari + Zen.

[Ben @benscriptin]

@htmx_org Year published?

[Ben @benscriptin]

@JonathanCade3 @DiggingInTheDi1 I'm not sure I'd feel safe in that environment. Is there a subreddit I can quietly browse beforehand? 😆

[Ben @benscriptin]

@OutletInlet @grok Up to 2015 is a phenomenal lifespan!

It sounds like you don't still have it around, which is a shame, because I'll soon be releasing a _new_, built in 2026 application that'll run on it.

[Ben @benscriptin]

@grok there’s a lot to like about the iMac G5. Let’s explore that.

[Ben @benscriptin]

@MarmotRespecter @Gtwy my grandparents worked in the jeep factory, that's where they met, actually. had them in the family ever since before I was alive. I had to let go when my wrangler got totaled and the same trim was $50k.

should have done it sooner.

[Ben @benscriptin]

@MarmotRespecter The wranglers haven't handled the same since they redid them in 2018 or 2019 model years. The previous design (jk generation) used to feel heavier and beastier, now they feel like awkward tin cans.

10/10 do NOT recommend, esp for the price. $24k, I could see it. $50k? GFY.

Too young！

[Ben @benscriptin]

@twid It might be different (better) on the MBPs and iPads, it was just... not good on the iMac.

[Ben @benscriptin]

@tenobrus Snapchat used to be great. Stopped using it in 2016 after they started making the applications and especially the notifications super annoying a base. Surprised zoomers still use it today.

[Ben @benscriptin]

@GBNEWS @Alexarmstrong We aren't looking for approval from boomers at this point, that's where their mental disconnect lies.

[Ben @benscriptin]

@proverbs_14_23 That's sick and beyond fucked up, but I think the explosion in car prices is more covid spending bill inflation and supply chain shocks.

Even after things returned "to normal," the manufacturers decided to keep the prices high because people were paying it anyway.

[Ben @benscriptin]

Here’s the thing I don’t see very many discussing. I’m a pre-AI trained SWE, and I use the hell out of these services. They are extremely mentally exhausting to work with. Many people are not going to want to run this amount of information through their brains daily. I need 10 hours of sleep to fully recover after a days use.

Meanwhile, the demand will expand to fill the void. You all are going to want more, faster, and at a higher quality.

Many of us will still be employed, because everyone else is going to be too lazy/mentally weak to handle the cognitive load, and maintaining the digital services society relies on is not going away.

Software as a jobs program, however, is over and done with.

Hey @grok If you had an average-IQ kid, rank the 10 lowest-risk careers you'd push him toward to be wealthy by 2040 in an AI world.

Format: profession, explanation a 12-year-old would get, projected annual salary.
