There are a bunch of truths, half truths, and flat out inaccuracies surrounding SBOC (soybeans of other colors). We are compiling a list of questions that are floating out there and we try and come up with answers. Reply to this tweet with what you are hearing.
@badgerbean@sethnaeve@arksoydoc@StepUpSoy @NCStatesoybeans The highest yield potential begins with the seed choice….. after that every choice either maintains the yield potential or diminishes it to some degree.
@wapp56 First of all, let me preface my response by disclosing that my farm is much farther north than yours. My data shows no reduction in yield from planting dates before May 12th but there is a penalty in my area for planting before May 1 even though I will plant earlier if dry.
@wapp56 My in farm data from last several years showed highest yields happen during planting dates of May 5th-12th. If I don’t have a forecast and good soil conditions, I will wait.
15 farmers in a region plant XYZ hybrid and “sell” their data to FBN. 6 have uncalibrated yield monitors, 3 forgot to change hybrids in the monitor during planting. 2 use irrigation but half are No-till. Fert wise there’s 60 bu/ac diff in yield goals. Garbage in = Garbage out
@billionare81 don't play games with the numbers.......you haul the corn and see what they pay you. By every standard 1000 bushels of corn weighs 56000 lbs. If it weighed 60,000 lbs it would be 1071 bushels and not 1000 bushels as you stated in your question. TW is a measure of density!
White House statement: "China will agree to purchase a not yet agreed upon, but very substantial, amount of agricultural, energy, industrial, and other product from the United States ... China has agreed to start purchasing agricultural product from our farmers immediately.”
Weigh wagon vs yield monitor data for one small corn plot comparison. Lets's make sure we are making the right choices for the 2019 growing season! #ontag#SolidData#Plant2019
We had the distinct honor to have @NBCNightlyNews come to our WI Soybean Assoc meeting today. They gave us the opportunity to share our story from the view of the American farmer on trade and tariffs. Very grateful for this opportunity! (Hopefully they edit it in time 4 2nite)!
You sell your beans oct/nov, maybe store some bu, but there is only one crop a year...Why not sell the data you are working so hard to create, the data YOU OWN...and sell it multiple times a year! How does that sound? That’s #FarmerPower@FarmobileLLC
@badgercropdoc Why would there be such a profound difference in the risk assessment between your map and what the Sporecaster app is showing me for my fields??
