What Hal said following every season since 2020:
2020:
“Our offense—just inconsistent at playing up to their potential, to me. … You couldn’t tell which offense was going to show up.”
2021:
“The majority of the responsibility, whether it's the responsibility of inconsistent offense or bad baserunning, etc., that responsibility lies with the players.”
2022:
“Aaron Boone wasn’t responsible for our offense, the slide they experienced the last couple months of the season rolling into the postseason.”
2023:
“We did not get where we needed to be with run production—it was probably our biggest problem.”
2024:
“We did not play a clean World Series."
2025:
“This Toronto series was on the players. It’s on the players’ shoulders, period. They didn’t hit."
2026:
“The majority of the responsibility … lies with the position players and the inability to score on a consistent basis.”
The fact of the matter is the manager is supposed to get the best possible version of those players on the field. His lack of care trickles down to the players. It’s just as much on Boone as it is the players. #FIREBOONE
Hal Steinbrenner said he places the blame for the 2026 season outcome on the position players and "the inability to score on a consistent basis throughout the course of the entire season, not on the shoulders of Aaron Boone."

Jazz Chisholm Jr. didn't understand why Yankees fans were booing him in Game 3.
“So, you’re booing a guy that’s playing currently, trying to help the team win. And I’m hearing boos instead of trying to hype guys up, you know what I mean?”

POV: you are about to get eliminated by a division rival for the 5th time in nine seasons on the job, resulting in zero titles, only one pennant, and wasting the entirety of the prime of the greatest right handed hitter of a generation. Sick.
Excited for the Yankees to have a stretch where they look unstoppable, then struggle heavily during the summer. Then have one good round of the postseason and then look abysmal in another and then the season will end. Every year. Same story. Baseball!
Game 1 of the ALDS, and I would love to see some analysis before the game or even pregame introductions, but thankfully instead TBS is playing Twister.
🤔If the “news” reports that everyone will get $5,000 checks if Republicans win the midterms, does that make them “fake news?”
If it is real news, does it mean Republicans are running “against socialism” or “for socialism?”
