POKE 808,255. For the avoidance of doubt when I type if I probably mean of and the same for in and on, an and am, in fact any two letter word is probably wrong
@jen_moxon@NickBurns1983 M25: Hold my beer… they spent a year making J5-J6 a smart motorway so unbelievable congestion and delay and then came back for another go to put in the reserves they should have done to start with… another year of misery. I only go on the M25 now either very late or very early
@jen_moxon I’m old enough to remember when being “influenced” was a bad thing. I wouldn’t give a shite but the stuff we buy is more more expensive because some of the cost is down to these twats being paid piles of cash
@lv can you help me, I have LPOA over a parent and trying to figure out what a direct debit is for. How can I contact you to get the information I need?
@nickfshort@philmcraig possibly take that long? Turns out moving some traffic lights and changing some pavements. Four months of delay and misery. There must be plenty of brown envelopes changing hands 💰
@nickfshort@philmcraig Nothing like the tragedy of this event but all our public institutions seem to be in a similar state. The main road from my town to the M25 has been a nightmare due to a four month roadworks project sometimes resulting in 1/2 hour waits. I looked up yesterday what could /1
@HighwaysSEAST saw this on the way home, let out a sigh but A21 still very much open. @helenadollimore if Hastings transport connections weren’t bad enough already you have to put up with being told complete rubbish like this on the M25!
@iAmJoshHunt Victorian construction many would be in need of replacement - and that time will come eventually. The only realistic option would be to shut down the entire railway. Can you really see the Forth Rail Bridge being rebuilt? It would make HS2 look cheap
@iAmJoshHunt I spent a big chunk of working life surveying railway infrastructure. It often occurred to me that there are thousands upon thousands of bridges, viaducts, culverts, tunnels - all well over 100 years old and many over 150 years old. If it wasn’t for the belt and braces /1
@jen_moxon Maybe it’s due to the wealthy owners of EV cars having taxpayer money thrown at them to subsidise their purchase of a vehicle that most people could never afford?
And the enshittification continues - even in areas you wouldn’t believe… the three tomato plants in the left are in an expensive tomato growbag. The fourth one on the right is in some soil I dumped in the gap. It’s double the size of the tomato grow bag ones…
@iAmJoshHunt a bit of HS2 to make sure some bats in a wood don't get splatted onto the front of the train. £100m, what's that, the cost of a large city hospital just to provide a tin roof? The irony of course the bats there are perfectly safe, they'll be long dead before any train runs /end
@iAmJoshHunt A huge part of the problem is the unbelievably complex and costly process of applying for planning permission and having something built. The govt impose all this on the population so they can't very well ignore it, the result is £100m of tax-payer money spent on a roof over /1
