Great to finally be able to share some details of the work @nswenviromedia and the #WollemiPine Recovery Team are doing to create additional populations of this iconic species and reduce its extinction risk. Huge thanks to #SavingOurSpecies and @InsideNatGeo for their support!
Finally got that ticket and now taking doctor’s appointments for all social and professional engagements 😉 Massive thanks to my amazing supervisors David, @ooist7 and Tony, and @CES_UNSW 🙏
We are recruiting again! Temporary position for Scientist with expertise in botany/plant ecology or threatened ecological communities available in the awesome Conservation Science Team https://t.co/GDZgSsjkef
#SavingourSpecies and partners have translocated 41 seedlings of critically endangered Julian’s hibbertia (Hibbertia spanantha) to a secret Sydney location.
It’s hoped that this project will bolster the wild population to ensure the long-term survival of this species 🌱
@SarahKlistorner Thanks Sarah! This work is a collaboration between @CES_UNSW and @nswenviromedia including Tony Auld, David Keith and @ooist7. More to come very soon!
#Fireseasonality can profoundly affect seedling emergence of species with physiological seed dormancy! We synthesized the key drivers into novel conceptual models to aid #firemanagement using #Boronia (#Rutaceae).

Effects of the seasonal/intra-seasonal timing of fire vary widely between species – even sympatric congeners. This calls for a nuanced approach to fire seasonality (i.e. month of occurrence cf. seasonal vs unseasonal fire) and data on a broader range of species/functional groups.
Two of our scientists Nicholas Carlile and Dr Terry O’Dwyer are joint winners in the NSW Premier’s Prizes for Science and Engineering 🏆Their scientific leadership helping secure the future of endemic birds on #LordHoweIsland. find out more here: https://t.co/aYJypUJmUD
A preprint of our latest article on the ecology and conservation of the iconic #WollemiPine, including the current population structure, translocation efforts, and impacts of the Black Summer fires, is now online at: https://t.co/VvfOO6o5R4
