Canada is officially phasing out the era of captive whales, dolphins, and porpoises for entertainment purposes.

The Ending the Captivity of Whales and Dolphins Act (Bill S-203) marked a fundamental advancement in marine mammal welfare. By amending the Criminal Code and Fisheries Act, the legislation prohibits:

- Capturing cetaceans from the wild.
- Breeding them in captivity.
- Keeping them for public display or entertainment.

Exceptions are allowed for rehabilitation, scientific research (under strict licensing), or cases where release is not feasible. A grandfather clause permits facilities to retain animals already in captivity at the time of enactment—ensuring these are the final generation held in tanks for such purposes. It also bans the trade of reproductive materials, closing potential loopholes for sustaining the industry.

I remember the day ~27 years ago when I first learned that inhalation experiments—where beagles are violently forced breathe toxic gas through masks like this—were a real thing.

I thought it was science fiction.

These were the same dogs who wake us up with licks to the face. The same pups who beg us for hugs even when we're disheveled, stinky, or just an emotional wreck. The same dogs who are so happy to see us, when we've been gone a couple hours, that they jump up and down or cry when we get back home.

The same pups who will die, thrashing in agony, because of a sick and often illegal experiment.

I didn't believe it was real.

But it is more than real. It's happening to thousands of dogs. And the nation's biggest provisioner of this torture is just a short distance from the nation's biggest city: Marshall BioResources in New York.

My friend @AndyMasley just posted that the more you read about animal abuse, the more it just starts to make you feel crazy. He's right. But there's a way out of that madness.

It's rescue. We have to get these poor pups out. And here is the thing:

Remember when President Trump told us about Hydroxychloroquine and how it was very effective for “Covid” and the fake news mafia twisted every word he said. He also talked about Ivermectin as well.
