Nicolás, no estás solo. ❤️

⚠️ The plague has returned to Russia
In Russia’s Irkutsk region, an employee of an anti-plague institute died from the pneumonic form of plague. The hospital where she was treated was subsequently placed under quarantine.
Shortly before falling ill, the woman had returned from a work trip to Buryatia, where natural plague hotspots exist. Specialists are now investigating how exactly she became infected.
According to Mash, the institute employee may have accidentally broken a test tube containing hazardous material while working in a laboratory. She allegedly told doctors about the incident after being hospitalized.
Plague outbreak in Siberia: what is known so far
After the laboratory technician’s death, nearly 200 people who may have had contact with the woman were hospitalized. Some of them developed symptoms.
According to the publication “Lyudi Baikala,” ambulances are being accompanied by FSB officers.
The Shelekhov hospital was closed for quarantine. People in protective suits, masks, and gloves were spotted on the city’s streets.
The epidemic could spread across Russia. Due to one person’s banal mistake, there is a risk of a new major plague pandemic.
War-zone-like from France: on Thursday, over 1,000 high schools were affected, 222 were blockaded, 2,000 students were detained, and 305 police officers were injured. On Friday, around 400 schools were closed and—by midday—564 were still facing disruptions, with approximately 600 new detentions. Since the unrest began: 40 principals and 170 students have been injured, and more than 100 high schools have suffered severe damage.
