As we close out Women’s Month, we don’t close the conversation, we carry it forward.
On my flight today, it was such a pleasure reconnecting with Captain Violet from @ibomairlines, who continues to take charge of the skies with grace, confidence, and excellence. She’s not only an exceptional pilot but also has such a great sense of humor, she joked about landing us at Heathrow instead of Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport (April Fools, of course 😄).
Moments like this are a powerful reminder that representation matters, and every barrier broken creates room for more women to rise. We need more people like Violet in the world , bold, brilliant, and inspiring.
Here’s to celebrating women not just in March, but every month, in the air, on the ground, and in every space they choose to lead.
Stabilization is not a one-time achievement; it is a daily effort built on preparedness and trust.
Our Deputy Res. Rep @RedkarVarsha opened this weeks, Sahel Regional Stabalization Facility for Nigeria’s Leadership Training of Trainers – “From Early Warning to Responsible Response”
By anchoring the #RSF in trauma-informed leadership and early warning systems, we ensure personnel are as emotionally grounded as they are operationally elite. This is human-centered security: where empathy meets accountability to turn stabilization into lasting recovery.
With the support of partners including the @GermanyDiplo , @UKinNigeria@SwedeninNigeria@NLinNigeria, @UNDP remains committed to strengthening institutions, reinforcing community trust, and consolidating the gains of stabilization across the BAY states.
Yesterday’s ceremony truly sparkled under the sun as we marked an important milestone at @UN_Nigeria from grid reliance to 🔋green resilience.
I was overflowing with pride seeing the #NextGen of @UNDPNigeria/ @UNDP , Eyllaf Gubara and Charles Obukwelu, take the lead as co-hosts.
These young #disrupters, full of courage and charisma, lit up the room with energy, vision, and purpose, reimagining the way traditional corporate events run and bringing creativity, engagement, and fresh ideas to every moment.
They remind us that bold, passionate leadership knows no age, and that the future of development is already being shaped by those who dare to lead differently.
To all young changemakers - dare to dream!

📣Today we took to the skies☁️ , launching not just a flight, but a new future for African commerce, powered by African solutions.
The Nigeria–East/Southern Africa Air Cargo Corridor ✈️📦is now live: a transformative freight route that slashes delivery times, cuts logistics costs by up to 50%, and connects Nigerian MSMEs to 13 key regional markets.
Beyond cargo, it’s about economic dignity, job creation, and regional solidarity. A shea butter cooperative in Niger can now reach Kigali in days. A fashion 🪡entrepreneur in Aba can export to Lusaka. A tech 📱startup in Lagos can scale across borders.
@UNDPNigeria is proud to co-create this milestone with @joduwole, @fmitiofficial and @UGAirlines_Ng@UG_Airlines, alongside broader support systems.
Africa isn’t just rising, she’s weaving her future, crossing her borders, and moving to the rhythm only she can play.
#PartnershipfortheGoals #AfCFTA #MadeInAfrica #BreakingBarriersToTrade #AfricaWeWant
Today marked a defining moment in Africa’s trade journey as we flagged-off the 1st air cargo shipment from 🇳🇬 to the East and Southern African corridor.
This is Africa, connecting & moving forward together. 🤝
Thanks to @fmitiofficial & @UG_Airlines for making this possible.
For too long, lack of access to reliable market data has limited the growth of African businesses, this tool is here to change that!
With the right data, African entrepreneurs can now build the future they want. Thanks to the @fmitiofficial for collaborating with us on this.
What an exciting week for #AfricanBusiness owners!
