I was the first international reporter inside Nicaragua's UNAN campus after the violent US-backed coup attempt was defeated in July 2018

What I saw inside the campus was shocking: opposition thugs had burned down a free daycare center, taken over and badly vandalized a health clinic that served the community, and used it as a base for robberies, violent attacks, and general depravity

The occupation of UNAN ultimately cost poor and working class students from across Nicaragua access to campus for at least a semester

Now, US media, the human rights industry and even Democracy Now are painting a convicted ringleader of the occupation of UNAN, Jeffrey Jarquin, as an innocent freedom fighter

These same regime change propagandists have never told the truth about the coup that pulverized Nicaraguan society in 2018, so I'd expect nothing less from them

This is insane: The genocidal Israeli colonial regime continues its rapid descent into even more apocalyptic fascism.

Israel's most influential think tank INSS, affiliated with Tel Aviv University, published this crazy white paper. It was written by the former IDF chief of intelligence, Tamir Hayman.

He declares that "most Arab states are not genuine nation-states", and therefore that "undermining their stability is viewed as a natural process, one that Israel can manage more effectively than it can contend with strong nation-states, and one that it should even encourage".

This is deeply ironic, considering that Israel is a Western settler-colonialist project created in 1948 by European and North American imperialists. It is the case study of a modern colonial political construct that is "not a genuine nation-state".

But that's not even the worst part of the paper.

The top IDF official also explicitly stated that Israel must have more war, and never promote peace.

He wrote, "War is essential to national security and cannot be replaced by a state of peace", arguing that the pursuit of peace "is an expression of weakness".

"War is necessary, and preventive war is preferable", the former IDF intelligence chief concluded, stressing that the "constant presence [of war] is an asset to national security".

The Saudis waged a genocidal war in Yemen, killing hundreds of thousands. They bombed Sana'a airport repeatedly. Yemen warned it would retaliate, then began by striking airport oil storage. MbS kept the airport open and struck Sana'a airport again. Outrage now is hypocritical.
