Activist: "Drinking milk is for baby cows, not humans."
Farmer: "Humans have been drinking milk for 10,000 years."
Activist: "We're the only species that drinks another species' milk."
Farmer: "We're also the only species that cooks food, wears clothes, and builds houses."
Activist: "It's unnatural."
Farmer: "So are antibiotics. Should we stop using those?"
Activist: "That's different."
Farmer: "How? Both are things humans do that animals don't."
Activist: "Milk is meant for calves."
Farmer: "And wheat is meant to reproduce the wheat plant. Yet here we are eating bread."
Activist: "Most humans are lactose intolerant."
Farmer: "Most humans of European descent aren't. Evolution happened. We adapted."
Activist: "It's still weird."
Farmer: "Weirder than flying in metal tubes or talking to strangers on screens?"
People who compare prices of commodities when it comes to what it costs to produce today vs the 70s or 80s is they never tell the back story of that we get 3 to 4x the output from then. Yes expenses are 3 to 4 times higher but so are the outputs.

Teammates from our young professionals group along with our young farmer committee visited Washington DC and met with @SenJohnHoeven, @SenAmyKlobuchar, @RepVanOrden, and @RepFischbach to discuss the Farm Bill and advocate for Agriculture!
