The court settlement is pragmatic and a fair outcome in this context. But it still exposes weak systemic support for teachers.
We need consistent discipline for students + genuine protection for teachers. Viral outrage shouldn’t replace fair, functional systems. Thoughts?

The Toase District Court has struck out the Nyinahin Catholic SHS teacher-student assault case today after both parties agreed to settle amicably. If the teacher had simply reported the student’s alleged misconduct instead of engaging physically, what would’ve happened?

The male teacher was quickly arrested. Professionals enforcing rules (like teachers and nurses) often face higher scrutiny and faster arrests, especially in viral mixed-gender incidents. Teachers deserve real institutional backing and de-escalation support, not abandonment.
