@masaccio60 I always think to the young soldiers who fought and died in the worst conditions for 2 years for nothing. Then, there was Caporetto and all their sacrificies vanished. AH and Italian armies. Big battles for mountains that later were abandoned. Poor guys.

3 years ago I posted the picture of the brother of my "Omi".
The last w/e I was in Dillenburg, where my mother was born, and only after 60 years that I go there, I noticed the monument to the fallen with his name.
2nd line, 1917.
Poor boy.

The 1st picture reminds me of Lawrence from Arabia who had a special permit for his dresses. As far as I know.

Along the river Vipava in Slo today by bycicle.
I noticed for the first time an AH cemetery. Many of the poor soldiers are regreatfully with no names.
On a house then, there incredibly is still written "Vincere" which makes contrast with the enormous name TITO on a close hill.
