In 1976 I came up with a bonkers idea to set up an aviation museum at Tangmere. In 1982, after thousands of hours of effort, and thousands of £ personal input, it finally opened. I’m rather glad I came up with that bonkers idea, and that I worked with (then, very few) others to make it happen, because look at it now! Do visit @MuseumTangmere

Pte Leslie A Lee, 14th Bn, Australian Imperial Force. Wounded by gunshot to shoulder & back at Ypres. Died at East Sx County Hospital, Hastings 9th Sept 1917. Buried at Hastings Cemetery. Personal Inscription: ‘A young life nobly ended, not lost but gone before. Ever remembered’.

What an achievement for Leicestershire.

Over the last couple of decades they’ve developed some fine players (James Taylor, Stuart Broad, Luke Wright, Harry Gurney to name a few), and now the current crop have made it to Division One.

Brilliant to see.
