50% of final energy use is for heat. Most of it is based on burning fossil fuels.

At the same time there is an abundance of heat in the water, ground and air, several times more than what we need.

Heat pumps can harvest, compress and transport that heat to where we need it.

Let’s use them!

@SussexTangerine Barely managed to get out at all this autumn too - but also enjoyed a Spotted Flycatcher in the garden yesterday. Quite a few butterflies and a very inquisitive Southern Hawker too. Best wishes!

Beautiful Demoiselle and Banded Demoiselle along the same stretch of the Cuckmere near Berwick yesterday. Also (finally!) a Cuckoo singing.

First proper butterfly explore of 2024. Grizzled Skippers and a Green Hairstreak at Abbots Wood but sadly no Pearl-bordered Fritillaries. On to Park Corner Heath where there were several PBFs. And a frog in our 1-year old garden pond.

Great to see our new rain garden in Hove beginning to bloom!

Aside from looking great, these Sustainable Drainage Schemes (SuDS) capture surface water during heavy rainfall, helping to alleviate the risk of flooding. (��1/2)

Beautiful morning at Arlington Reservoir and v nice to see a Cattle Egret there. However, it's heartbreaking to see the damage to the rookery at Ludlay Coppice due to tree felling by Firle Estate.
