This is a shocking population collapse in Tree Sparrows - replicated at several sites countrywide where there is food and nest-box provision. Seemingly no obvious disease mortality but what else could lead to such sharp declines in populations subject to conservation measures?

I love the theory of BNG but it involves politicians and BIG money so open to ‘interpretation’ and outright corruption. Not to mention the wrecking of existing high biodiversity areas. And overseen by @DefraGovUK which isn’t fit for purpose. I don’t trust this one iota.
