" I think the attribute that's missing the most from churches in terms of God's moral attributes is wrath. The wrath of God is what many people just have to put out of mind, but that does not make it less sure."
From the Ask Anything Tour. I hope you find my answer helpful.
It’s disgusting and disgraceful that our children are growing up to see that deceptive, cowardly, leftist evangelical leaders like you have become normal.
The one thing Kamala is running on—guaranteeing abortion in every state—she can’t even do. So, for the promise of the impossible, millions of people are voting for men in girls’ bathrooms and open borders.
Remember that Bible verse where the apostles were like, “hey, we don’t talk about THAT issue because we don’t mix religion and politics.”?
No?
Me neither.
As far as I can tell, my Christian commitments make me “not Democrat” and expressly require me to vote against such views. That means voting for Trump, in this election.
It makes me pro-life, pro-family, pro-traditional marriage, anti-LGBTQ ideology (which is the loving and truthful position). Among others, these are all Christian positions, not just political positions.
In this particular election, all the various, complex issues considered, a vote for Trump (who I do not endorse) seems like the right choice. While one could abstain, hoping for better future options, it seems to me that doing so pretty much guarantees you won’t ever see better options.
I know many people will think I’m an idiot or moral fool for saying this. While I don’t think the same of them, I do think this is the right move for Christians. Nor, if I can anticipate a rebuttal do I think that “love your neighbor” is consistent with the democratic position on ANY issue, including unfettered immigration, which Democrat leaders seem to be using to change the electorate while not actually caring much about immigrants or citizens. Remember Martha’s Vineyard? Consider even the restrictions on immigration baked into the laws God gave Israel. Compassion within the context of wisdom.
If my fellow Christians disagree I hope they can do so without becoming rabid haters. Either way, the choice seems abundantly clear to me, for whatever that’s worth to you. I’m voting for Trump, as much as I don’t like it.
How can Walz quote Matthew 24:40 “whatever you do the least of these,” and support killing helpless preborn babies? The cognitive dissonance is incredible.
The general public deserves to know what happened in the Lawson situation. Sure, it should be a local church matter, maybe initially, but they’ve dropped the ball on that. He also had a public ministry where thousands have paid to see him speak, brought their children, invested in his One Passion ministry, bought his books, and we’re all owed the answers.
If his church, pub ministry or Lawson himself can’t buck up and make a REAL statement on it, then people who hate us will be the ones to break it first. And I pray that’s coming from his camp, Really soon. Bc the story is already trickling out and it’s BAD, do we really want the minions to be the ones to give the story? Do the sheep really have to wait on people who hate the church to tell us what’s going on?
Kamala Harris is being trained like an actress—lights, cameras, memorized lines—so she can “win” the debate and act her way through this election. But we’re not choosing the lead in a movie; we’re choosing our Commander-in-Chief. As citizens and voters, we need to recognize our solemn responsibility in this regard.
Abortion is not a right.
Abortion is a murder.
Abortion is not healthcare.
Abortion is a death sentence.
Abortion is not a women's issue.
Abortion is a child sacrifice issue.
Abortion is not rooted in politics.
Abortion is rooted in demonic religious worship.
Wake up.
Trump hasn't explained what specifically he intends us to take from this post, but to use the euphemistic language of "reproductive rights" that the left uses to refer to the ability to legally kill babies is clearly an attempt to appeal to pro-choicers.
It's tragic. Again, unsurprising, but tragic.
That said, I see some Christians saying that this now makes the choice between Trump and Harris a toss up--that the party platforms have some kind of moral equivalence now. I think that's a gravely mistaken belief for two key reasons.
1) Although abortion should ALWAYS be the number one issue given its gravity, the two parties represent completely different understandings of good and evil on many other very important subjects as well. So, even IF Trump and Harris disastrously had the same views on abortion, there are very serious other issues that should easily break the voting tie: the left's promotion of gender ideology (with all its societal consequences for children, family, and adults), its disregard for parental rights, its elevation of identity politics over religious freedom, its facilitation of illegal immigration (which hurts would be immigrants as well as those already here), and its incessant push of neo-Marxist ideologies through the educational system...to name just a FEW. A vote for Trump is a vote against these evils that would be perpetrated by a Harris administration.
2) Though we don't know exactly where Trump will end up given his trajectory on this issue and the most recent social media post pictured below, from everything we know, Harris has an absolutely radical history on abortion and is one of the most pro-abortion politicians today. I think it's fair to say that she CELEBRATES the right to kill babies and doesn't "just" advocate for women to have a "choice." Additionally, don't think for a moment that this is now a state issue so the president's view won't really matter. Friends, this COULD NOT be further from the truth. As Ryan T. Anderson has pointed out (see my last X post for the article):
"Since Dobbs v. Jackson, the Biden-Harris administration (as the White House now calls it) has promoted abortion and interfered with state pro-life laws, as Harris promised. The means are various...the Biden-Harris administration has turned Title X into an abortion counseling mandate, turned taxpayer dollars into abortion funds, turned emergency rooms and VA hospitals into abortion clinics, turned the United States Postal Service into an abortion pill delivery service, and turned protections for pregnant workers into an abortion mandate."
This election is an awful one. I get it. For me, DeSantis was the obvious choice for Christians in the primaries. But if I'm going to have to pick between enabling the left to march forward with a whole swath of policies rooted in a godless, man-centered worldview and enabling Trump to have four years that will at the very least pause that march (while potentially doing some good things along the way), it's a no-brainer.
I mourn the situation we're in, but I can't change the situation, so I'm going to use my vote for the best combination of promoting good and restraining evil that we have in front of us (per Romans 13).
