just bought https://t.co/Yu8l29uOHS domain for $100K.
It took us 13 months of back and forth.
Right when i was about to give up, the deal went through.
Weโre growing fast and Iโd rather own the domain now than pay millions later.
I did the same with @DailyUI
Some clients and potential partners will inadvertently use the .com when writing an email and theyโll assume you ghosted them if they donโt get a bounce-back or reply
The โmโ will be worth it soon enough ๐
$125k actually seems like a great price too!
@GoDaddy cannot get any crazier than this.
The top line of the image below is GoDaddy's AI "Suggested Pricing" for our https://t.co/IYrSoLhZkF. IMO, it's accurate.
However, below it is their GoValue appraisal, which is what the PUBLIC sees. This is self-sabotage of the highest order.
Shout out to @DomainOrca for spotlighting it.

This new Founders Fund-backed startup had to go to war with a country over their domain name - before it even launched.
CEO @samdblond breaks down the legal battle:
โShortly after we acquired the domain, we got this hate mail from the escrow company holding the domain that the government of Monaco had filed whatโs called a UDRP dispute against us.โ
โThey made all sorts of what turned out to be unsubstantiated trademark claims. We got legal representation. This was a couple-months-long process that required all sorts of evidence and more, and we ended up winning the case.โ
I purchased https://t.co/ac2AqjBNxj in April. Since that time, we created a team that has been steadily building. There are always twists and turns, but Iโm excited with our first launch this Sunday during the Super Bowl.
@AtomJamesScott@paulg The ones who can afford the $100k domain will most likely be able to drown you. So the cost of losing the main domain (and brand that comes with it) ends up outweighing the price difference
