I’m a woman and I’m voting for safe cities, a safe border, a better economy, protecting my 2nd amendment right, and ensuring this country is stays great for all of my children. I’m not voting for abortion.
Not all women are pro-abortion.
I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money.

@ManichVincent@FixingEducation Honestly I’m all for a year round school year, with shorter breaks I think it would be valuable time and it would help our students with learning loss during the summer and our students with food insecurities who only get meals at school sometimes.
@ManichVincent@FixingEducation We fit 12 months of work into 10 and we only get paid for 10. Some teachers aren’t paid while they’re “on break” and many teachers work through those breaks as well. The breaks are valuable to our students as well, they need time to rest and recoup just like adults do.
@ManichVincent@FixingEducation Not to mention duties before and after school that take up more of our time. Granted I knew all of this going into the field, I knew what I was taking on, but many people never think about what is happening behind the scenes of a great lesson.
@ManichVincent@FixingEducation I have about a 40 minute planning period when that isn’t taken up by meetings, which happens more often than you think. It’s not enough time during the day to plan for the rest of the week, especially for new teachers or teachers who teach multiple subjects.
If any other profession besides educators had their employees making wishlists for materials to do their jobs, everyone would think it was ridiculous and that their job should provide them what they need.
Why is it acceptable for education?
Teaching is more than a job to most teachers, but that doesn't mean they deserve low pay and abuse.
Teachers have bills and mental health to worry about too.
