For more than 75 years, the @AAFP has supported family physicians in their mission to deliver evidence-based, high-quality care to every patient, in every community. Our mission-centered work has always been nonpartisan—we evaluate policies solely on their ability to improve health outcomes and strengthen the physician–patient relationship.
Regrettably, actions by HHS Secretary Kennedy have weakened public health protections and eroded public trust. In the past eight months, confidence in HHS has fallen eight percentage points to below 50 percent—historic lows that threaten the credibility of our nation’s health system.
While trust in federal health agencies has declined, patients continue to look to their family physicians for reliable, evidence-based care.
This morning, the AAFP issued a statement expressing our concerns regarding Secretary Kennedy’s leadership and calling on the President to reassess his fitness to serve. We further urge Congress to strengthen oversight and protect the health of millions of Americans.
Our mission is clear: support family physicians, safeguard patients, and ensure access to quality care. That mission—not politics—drives our call for action.

Researchers at MIT have questioned whether SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound) actually work. They suggest we might get better outcomes if we make our goals FAST (frequently discussed, ambitious, specific and transparent) not SMART.
