I distinctly remember, as a young teenager, the first time I stayed up all night on the internet, until I saw the morning sun peeking through my window.
Felt like I'd passed some barrier. The night was no longer real. Just a bunch of dark hours.
My favourite thing post-backrooms is learning that the concept of the backrooms has kind of been intrinsically linked to the human psyche (but also experience) for a very long time, regardless of if we had a term for it or not
just saw obsession. it must have been so fun to play nikki. also beautiful portrayal of the inherent evils living within meek nice guy men who see women as nothing more than vessels for their own validation and think they’re too woke for misogyny cuz they say sorry a lot.
My mother had her entire world view shifted when I was like ~12 ish she said you shouldn't go braless around your grandpa and I said "oh he's a pedophile?" and I watched her mind shatter in front of me and no similar topic ever came up again
