“If you don’t have a seat at the table we have no problem standing on the table with a megaphone.” 12yo Mari Copeny reminds adults Gen Z won’t wait ‘their turn’ to change the world, but it would be nice having some help from adults. #ChangeMaker#YDIG2019#LouderForTheFolksInBack
W over 9K responses to the Race, Ethnicity, & School Climate Student Survey, we are enormously grateful to our intergenerational allies for promoting the link & hesitate to ask for even one more thing.
But the survey window closes 12/20 & geographic representation matters!
Our judges decided on a tie for 3rd place in the 13-18 age group #SingYourAnthem contest. Madison & Abbot (13) sing “Just Be” and Holt (16) & Cabe (13) sing “Freedom Hero." We hope you enjoy their anthems as much as we do!

How you can help: This is the *official* Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund set up by @GovAndyBeshear. All donations are tax-deductible and donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes after donating. https://t.co/c0KSKYXfu9
Colleagues on the ground say the tornado in KY damage is even worse in person than in the pictures. The two best ways to help right now are donating blood and donating to the Team Kentucky Fund.

My thanks to @KYStateParks for opening up lodging for displaced families after last night. I’m told rooms at the parks are coordinated through local emergency management to the State Emergency Management folks. #kywx
I’m heartbroken for all those at home who’ve experienced more loss than anyone should ever have to bear. But I take heart in seeing all my fellow Kentuckians step up at a time when their kindness is needed most.
My prayers are with the those all across the Commonwealth today.
This final morning of MS KYA, we woke to the news of last night’s tornadoes and devastation across our state. The KYYMCA mourns with our community, and offers support as our teens and families find a path forward. We will work with local Y efforts in the days and months ahead.
The KY YMCA Youth Association mourns with our students, advisors, alumni and communities who are affected by the devastating losses in Kentucky overnight.
Midday Celebration: Both of our Commonwealth bills from FSMS were highly ranked and they both passed the House and Senate. One of our BG bills presented well this morning but unfortunately didn’t pass out of chambers. ALL of the delegates from FSMS are debating so well! @KYYMCA
