Introducing From Barely Surviving to Truly Thriving: Disabled People’s Manifesto 2026–2031.
Developed with DPOs and 250+ disabled people, it calls for action across five key areas to build a Wales where disabled people can thrive.

Now, more than ever, it is no longer enough to say we support human rights, we must protect them in law.
I took a debate to the Senedd calling for a Human Rights Act for Wales, following the launch of a report by the Cross-Party Group on Human Rights, which I chair.
November 17 marked the beginning of #SelfCareWeek which aims to raise awareness about the importance of self-care in everyone's lives.💜

I’m done watching disabled female content creators get torn apart for simply existing online.
Every time a disabled woman posts content, the comments fill up with the same sewage:
“Faking it.” “Attention-seeking.” “Unattractive.” “Why are you even here?”
“You’re so fat/skinny/ugly!”
People police disabled women’s words, our mobility aids, our symptoms, our clothing, our hair colour, our right to take up digital space.
And when we clap back? Suddenly we’re “aggressive,” “ungrateful,” “making everything political.”
Disabled women are punished for existing outside a fantasy of who’s allowed visibility.
If we post brilliant content, we’re “begging for attention”. If we’re beautiful, we’re “sluts”. If we’re not, we’re “disgusting.” If we’re confident, then “there’s nothing really wrong with you.”
This isn’t just a social media problem. It’s cultural rot where disabled women are expected to be silent, grateful, and invisible — and punished when we refuse.
Disabled women don’t owe you palatability. They don’t owe you fragility. They don’t owe you quiet. They don’t owe you ANYTHING.
We’re done being polite about it.

@tfwrail Good morning :) I wondered if the trains are running between Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Bay all day? The tracker doesn’t show any journeys but there seems to be no scheduled works? Thank you!🙏
A huge thank you to @AllWalesPF for having us at their #AWPFManifesto2026 launch yesterday. Hearing from members with a learning disability and/or autism about their lives and what they'd like to see @WelshGovernment commit to moving forwards was important and impactful.

It's ridiculous that only 20 tickets were available to this & disabled people were kept from having their say. There's only ONE in-person consultation event in the whole of Wales & the info didn't tell you the date or location. Just that it was 'accessible' (by whose standards?)
Just an update: We did eventually get in and we stopped the DWP consultation and did one for all disabled people to oppose the Green Paper.

🧵 🚨 Breaking Access to Work News - changes coming from tomorrow, May 6th 🚨
I thank Disability Consultant Alice Hastie for flagging upcoming changes to @DWPgovuk Access to Work schemes 'operational delivery'. In theory, there is no actual change in policy, but in practice …
Good to see barriers/attitudes towards disabled people at work also being shared at this Committee.
More support needs to be given to both employers and people with disabilities/neurodivergent conditions to create more inclusive and more diverse workplaces.
Really worth watching back today's @CommonsWorkPen evidence sessions on the government's plans for cuts/changes to disability & incapacity benefits
Great contributions from @EllenClifford1@Jamestaylor2 @davidfinchthf @DisRightsUK & @Rethink_ among others https://t.co/gXL5gVlwaT
NEW POLLING FOR WALES
Senedd voting intention:
Plaid 30%
Reform 25%
Labour 18%
Conservatives 13%
Lib Dem 7%
Green 5%
Other 2%
What's most interesting is that Labour voters are going to Plaid and Tory voters are going to Reform.
Make you wonder why Labour are so obsessed combating Farage really doesn't it?

Love this 🥰 sometimes when u share my special interests people give me a funny look. But the calm, joy and emotional regulation it brings reinforces the importance of our ‘weird’ and wonderful #actuallyautistic interests 🥰
Thank you so much to @care_wales for inviting @LdWales along to your event this morning. It was inspiring to hear about all the work you’ve been doing with service users, their families & stakeholders to form your new strategic plan. The passion in the room was evident ☺️
