Campaigning against a greenbelt busway in S Cambs around Magog Down. Advocating for an alternative route delivering the same benefits at a fraction of the cost.
Cambridge’s green belt has protected its unique character for 100 years. We must ensure growth is sustainable and green spaces are preserved. Join Cambridge Past, Present & Future to help protect the city’s future. 🌳💚

We have Solicitors, barrister, and consultants appointed for the public inquiry due to be held this winter for the alternative route that provides greater transport benefits, is £100m cheaper and doesn’t trash our countryside! For more information visit https://t.co/IfYjYoG4Xu
Cambs County, 1 May please vote for a candidate that doesn’t want to throw nature under a £200m+ busway to Grange Road🌳🚌❌ Help #SaveCotonOrchard 🗳️🟢⚪️🔵✅
A great letter in @CambridgeIndy spelling out what’s Bonkers about the GCP busway: £200m+ to bulldoze @MadingleyHill & Coton Orchard, carve up the green belt, and deliver… four buses an hour to Grange Road. Masterful planning❗️Now, Minister, any chance of some uncommon sense❓🤔
Happy New Year all 😃
Could 2025 be the year the opportunity is seized to initiate investment in a mass transit system for Cambridge? We look forward to working with you to build a transit system for our region that’s fit for the next quarter century, & beyond😃
If you want to grow Cambridge EWR is not a good approach. The chosen route does not support local plans, predicted passenger numbers are pathetic and the associated housing would just put lots more cars on the road.
A decision on CSET, @GreaterCambs’ southeast Cambridge busway, will be made by @CambsCC on 22 October 2024.
Papers for the meeting are now available...

Countdown to the #GE: where do parties stand on key South Cambs issues—C2C/CSET bonkers busways, East West Rail southern route, sewage plant move to Honey Hill❓ Huge environmental/economic costs, little public benefit. Have your say. Vote on July 4th #SouthCambsElection 🗳️
Well, @LibDems voted to drive a bus through Coton Orchard and it looks as though they intend to do it. Environmental credentials on paper only @pippaheylings
Quality rail can easily capture many commuting trips from car. No need for that 2nd car. People will regularly walk a mile to a rail station, & cycling (to station) can, due to utter reliability, be quick than car for a 3mile trip. Drivers rarely cover true cost of their car trip
There were six railway lines into Cambridge: from Ely, Haverhill, Liverpool Street, Newmarket, Oxford and King’s Cross. Why do the government think that re-opening the one from Oxford will be “transformational” for Cambridge? Why didn't the others already do that?#EastWestRail
