I'm very, very happy for many reasons, but the main one is that I believe today is the day the people of our country have started reclaiming their country from those who have tried to destroy the Constitution, and from those who have done everything possible to oppress and suppress the voices of our people.

I believe this is a victory for the youth of India, and I am so proud of each and every one of them who stood up for what they believed in. They did it exactly the way Mahatma Gandhi ji taught us. They did it non-violently. Pellet guns were fired at them. Tear gas was used against them. They were beaten with lathis. They suffered serious injuries, but they did not bend. The Modi government had to bend to their will.

This is a lesson for every ruler of this country, now and forever: you have to listen to the will of the people. This is a democracy, and the will of the people is paramount. There is nothing above it.

Today, our students and young people have proved that. Across India, they stood for what they believed was right, and this is their victory. I congratulate every one of them.

We in the Congress party have tried our best to support them in the strongest way possible. Rahul Gandhi ji has been raising the issue of paper leaks and the examination crisis for more than two or three years. I also want to congratulate him because he has consistently raised this issue and inspired all of us in the Congress Party, the NSUI, and the Youth Congress not only to stand with students but also to build a nationwide movement for students' rights and for meaningful reforms in education.

இந்த சர்வாதிகார மோடி -பாஜக அரசுக்கு எதிரான போராட்டத்தை தொடர்ந்து நடத்தி இந்தியாவை மீட்டெடுக்க முடியும் என்ற நம்பிக்கையை அளித்த அனைவருக்கும் மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகள் . மாணவர்களுக்கு ஒரு ராயல் சல்யூட் !
