Love my job and have enjoyed settling into my new school but it’s been such a long term that I’m looking forward to 2 weeks of recharging my batteries. Just today to go ☺️
It’s my last week in the school I did my probation year in and have worked in for over 2 years☹️ So excited to get started in my new school but sad to be leaving my pupils and colleagues
At times we all feel like we’re not making a difference and sometimes think “what have the children actually learned this year”. I always come to writing. At the start of the year we were working on spelling our name, yesterday my class did these independently😌
More than one woman of colour elected into Scottish Parliament for first time in history. It amazes me it’s taken until 2021 but at least we’re here now. Party politics aside, glad to see that one is also a teacher🥰
When one of your pupils tells you with a massive grin on their face that you’re doing a great job, you realise that the time you put into work is so worth it🥰
Struggled trying to share my screen this morning so said to my kids “you know Miss Wishart isn’t always the best with computers”. One of them then said “no you’re not but you’re still a really great teacher”. The honesty I needed 😭❤️
This! I remember 9am on day 1 of home learning last time. I was bombarded with questions, logins weren’t working, everyone was stressed. By the end of the day, everyone was up and running and we made it through 3 months of online learning💪
What I’ve learnt about schools this year is that by the end of today everything will be sorted, routines and systems will be in place and they’ll be cracking on with the job.
Schools, headteachers, school staff. You continue to be amazing. You’ve let nobody down.
Almost cried happy tears whilst eating my breakfast this morning. The parents had made a video of some of my kids singing ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’. So blessed to have a job I love😢🥰❤️
After a pupil bringing in a book she’d written, my class all wanted to write their own book. Yesterday we spent time illustrating and writing our own books. They absolutely loved it and can’t wait to continue with them over the next few days!
Door to door carol singing is just a “probably shouldn’t happen” and in England is allowed yet I am definitely not allowed to sing with my kids even outside. Try everyday having to remind 5 year olds they’re not allowed to sing 😢 Another rule that makes completely no sense.
