My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.

@GBBranstetter This is a very informative and great interview and podcast. It's not only about the deplorable efforts to erase trans people, but also provides a lot of context and perspective on the experiences and needs of transgender people. Thank you!
@BethALivingston I’m very appreciative that you did choose to write it, & did it so well, so clearly, and so persuasively—while modeling what scholarly discourse should actually look like—without being hurtful and without feeding into the damaging systems that we are trying to uncover & address.
Great analysis and response! Your clear breakdown and review of the problems, and citation of appropriate literature actually grounded in scholarship is precisely what was needed. Thank you for writing and publishing this much needed counterpoint!

@mwkraus I guess what’s needed are more activist psychologists to reform our own system (if you/we can get through the “editors”). I’m sure one line doesn’t capture the editor’s full thinking, but the assumptions embedded in that one line are actually quite astounding. Best wishes!
