There will never be another like Pete Rose! He battled his entire life, making it to the Big Leagues on determination and grit. He wanted to win every game and get 3 , no make that 4…no, 5 hits everyday. He won batting title because he had the desire and the goal. He wanted Ty Cobb’s record.
Will we ever see this again? 13 seasons of 190+ hits. 3,562 games played. 5,929 times on base. Rookie of the Year, All Star, Gold Glover, Silver Slugger, MVP and World Series Champion. A local kid from Cincinnati who became a King.
We were teammates, business partners and more importantly, in spite of what everyone thought, we were friends. I will miss him dearly.
First, incredible to have as respected an accomplished a coach as Jay on TV… he is awesome. 2nd, he is so right… Sheppard alley down 2 to Big Z? Exactly what he is talking about
Coach Cal on Rob Dillingham playing four minutes in the second half: "The team that was out there was playing so well together that I left it alone. If we finished the game, you would have said (you didn't need him)."
Final Score
Tennessee 103
Kentucky 92
Aside from Rob Dillingham’s phenomenal 35-pts, this was a sad, sad week for Kentucky basketball. UK has now lost 3 times at Rupp this season. This team is on a path that’s likely to end in early March. But as the saying goes, never give up.
