Nothing like a USA rant. Feels like a soccer game #StateOfTheUnion

@28113Fall17 IFLA is connecting librarians and people in general all around the world to discuss their global vision for the world and libraries. With a change in times, comes a change in libraries and how they service the communities near and abroad. https://t.co/paBPPS7TQd

@28113Fall17 Rich (north) countries providing more aid is a great indication of changing desires toward aiding development throughout the would. Globalization at it's best. https://t.co/KfDV7MPUG7

[The Economist @TheEconomist]

Rich countries are giving more in foreign aid than ever before. But who gives the most, and where does it go?

The arab spring uprisings impacted both the stability, or lack thereof, in the region, but was proof of the changing views towards rights and information in the world because of globalization.

The future of social media is one where it connects all corners of the world (for better&worse). A future with 1 world identity #sjsui246w10

[Genesis Jais @BGonthetrain]

@bee_lovely24 @LeilasFace Also makes me think if u follow many pages on Fb, you may miss the lib. posts. If u follow few pages & people, you may see lib post always

[Genesis Jais @BGonthetrain]

@LeilasFace This is true. Smaller # of followers means less people see...unless it is a paid promotion

[Genesis Jais @BGonthetrain]

@itseteatime @denzepperone In my experience managing the FB for my library, users aren't that easy to like things, so when they do it means a lot.

[Genesis Jais @BGonthetrain]

I think it also depends whether its likes on a post or liking a facebook page. One requires much more of an active search than the other https://t.co/jNsKQ3XFfy

[Genesis Jais @BGonthetrain]

@denzepperone Can likes be engagement?or a measure of engagement? Is not necessarily a dialogue, but acknowledging posts or liking the page connects w/org

[Genesis Jais @BGonthetrain]

Libraries should not forget to compare engagement to event attendance to see if the social media promotion is effective #sjsui246w8

[Genesis Jais @BGonthetrain]

Metrics libraries should measure include follows, comments, likes to determine frequency of engagement. #sjsui246w8

@rcalhoun_246 I completely agree. Every time I help a patron on a comp I make sure to mention to sign out of whatever their doing and not just walk away
