Join us tonight to find out how single neurons can do the job of whole networks at 6:30 PM IST. Online Seminar: Prof Upinder Singh Bhalla – "The butterfly strikes back: neurons doing 'network' computation" | Fri, May 29, 2020 via @worldwideneuro https://t.co/Qe34w02lqn
I'd like to invite you to a treat, tomorrow at 14:00 BST via @worldwideneuro: Upinder Bhalla of the famous @bhalla_lab will tell us how "the butterfly strikes back: neurons doing 'network' computation”. A highlight to end the week. Don't miss it at https://t.co/aLFjBKGjpA
Another exciting Friday JC, multiple time zones (feels like Fightclub+Groundhog day) Led by @Twarkowski with authors Aanchal Bhatia and @sahilmoza@NCBS_Bangalore "Precise excitation-inhibition balance controls gain and timing in the hippocampus" https://t.co/oR851LqUx8
An impressive and thorough presentation by @Twarkowski of our @eLife paper at @AmarSahay_ lab Journal Club. Thank you Amar for inviting @aanchal_b89 and me from @bhalla_lab to your lab meeting to answer questions about our paper!
Tune-in to my talk, Monday 10amEDT / 2pmGMT / 7:30pmIST at #Neuromatch2020 on work described in the #tweeprint below.

Precise feedforward E/I balance in the hippocampus
-Activating random subsets of CA3 neurons sends ~equal excitatory and feedforward inhibitory inputs to CA1 cells.
-Inhibition arrives with delay that decreases with input amplitude.
