@SharmaShradha Handholding in the beginning of the startup journey is much needed. I am glad that Shurukar is all about handholding.
@bhashabharat stands with @SharmaShradha in sharing our experience with aspiring startups.
1 Lakh Jobs. One New Industry. Could this lead to new job opportunities?
SEMICON India 2026 is here, and the numbers are only the opening act.
₹1 lakh crore in fresh investment commitments.
Close to 1 lakh new jobs.
11 MoUs signed.
5 major announcements.
12 chip projects already approved.
But the real story isn't the numbers. It's the shift underneath them.
India is moving from building fabs to building an entire semiconductor ecosystem. From policy on paper to production on the ground.
ISM 2.0 now stands on six pillars: design, materials, fabs, advanced packaging, R&D and talent.
And the next layer is already taking shape:
200 semiconductor design startups
1 lakh technicians to be trained
6 new ChipIN Regional Centres
India is no longer preparing to enter the global chip race.
India is already in it. 🇮🇳
To understand what this moment really means, how the policy went operational in less than 4 years to reach this scale, and what lies ahead for India's growth story, I sat down with MeitY Secretary @SecretaryMEITY for a conversation that goes behind the headlines.

@over2shailaja Wonderfully expressed, Ma'am. As a seeker and with my closeness to Maharaj Ji, I resonate with each and every line. Hanuman Ansh has come to us, and each one of us connects according to our level of devotion, and in some way, it is helping to open our hearts.
@SharmaShradha@PMOIndia@narendramodi Entrepreneurship must become a genuine third pathway for young Indians, accessible beyond family wealth and networks.
From job seekers to job creators. 🇮🇳
—it is how @SharmaShradha@YourStoryCo trying to Support Startup Ecosystem making the queue smaller.
Everyone is debating the paper leak. Almost nobody is debating the queue.
40% of graduates under 25 are unemployed. Graduates are two-thirds of India's unemployed. 12 million young Indians join the workforce every year. The anger on the streets isn't about one exam. It's a generation discovering that the exam they bet their childhood on leads to a queue, not a job.
And here's the hard truth: you cannot exam-reform your way out of a jobs shortage. A fairer queue is still a queue.
This generation needs a third door.
Today a young Indian has two imagined futures: sarkari naukri or private job. Building something of your own is the third, and right now it's mostly reserved for kids with networks and family money.
After 17 years in this ecosystem, I've written a full implementable policy blueprint to change that.
A National Entrepreneurship Mission.
One door, one entrepreneur ID, one journey from "I want to do something" to "I built something."
District idea banks for graduates who don't know what to build. A mentor and an AI co-pilot for every founder. Every scattered govt fund on one spine.
10 lakh enterprises in 5 years. Minimum 40-50 lakh jobs created by this generation instead of demanding for it. Rollout in 15 months, because every piece already exists.

Every handloom has a story. Every weave carries generations of dreams, struggle and pride.
On #NationalHandloomDay, I'm thinking of the countless weavers who have kept India's heritage alive, often without the recognition or opportunities they truly deserve.
The best way to honour them isn't just by celebrating them today.
It's by asking ourselves as citizens, entrepreneurs and policymakers what more we can do to help them earn better, build stronger brands and reach bigger markets.
I've been heartened to see initiatives by the Andhra Pradesh government under @ncbn leadership from free power support for weavers to strengthening APCO and expanding market access for handloom products.
I hope many more states take inspiration from such efforts and create their own models to empower this community.
At @BharatProject, we believe India's future will be built not only by technology and startups, but also by those who keep our timeless traditions alive.
To every weaver across India: "thank you". Your craft is our identity. 🇮🇳❤️
