I filed an RTI on a JKAS EWS selection and the reply I got will shock you. The candidate’s family income as per official records is 7,79,000 just 21,000 short of the 8 lakh ceiling. Their house is 2,800 square feet but divided among 4 brothers so it qualifies. And the father? A Senior Revenue Official posted in the very same tehsil that issued the EWS certificate. And this candidate is doing MD Anaesthesia in J&K, a branch linked directly with critical care and life-saving decisions. This is not a joke anymore. This is the collapse of merit, accountability and public trust in the healthcare system. Lakhs of deserving students sacrifice years of their lives for these exams, only to watch the system reward mediocrity while punishing hard work. When a patient enters an operation theatre, they don’t ask for category, politics or vote banks. They pray for competence. Healthcare cannot survive on compromises.
The public deserves qualified, capable doctors.
Enough is enough.

Today, the Reservation bill was put to a vote & all NC MLAs chose to vote against it, crushing the remaining hopes of students of Kashmir.

And look at the attitude & feel the words of Omar Abdullah;

"Let him press the bill, we will vote against it. We don't have an issue."

Only 4000 odd people from kashmir division have been able to make ews certificate in past 5 years compared to 40,000+ in jammu.

This is not just about a few fake EWS certificates. The real issue is the deeply flawed EWS criteria in J&K.
If EWS is meant for 10% of the population, at least 15 lakh people in J&K should qualify. Yet an arbitrary residential asset condition (1000 sq ft) has made the quota virtually inaccessible for genuinely poor families; especially among the Kashmiri ethnic population, where even the poorest often exceed this vague threshold.

We raised this issue with the government over a year ago.
No corrective action has followed.

A welfare provision cannot be
designed in a way that excludes the very poor it claims to help.

Fake certificate gang strikes again.
Watch this eye-opener video. Aspirants who allegedly used fake certificates just got selected in JKAS yesterday. Merit is being murdered in broad daylight while genuine hardworking candidates get robbed of their chance. How long will this fraud continue?

While decoding the JKAS-2024 results, we find that out of 90 selected candidates, no more than 20 are from Kashmir division.

What is shocking is that despite data showing a clear trend of exclusion of the Kashmiri population from jobs for a long time now, yet journalists & politicians are mum. Instead, they normalise this tragedy by highlighting a few who get selected, creating an impression that nothing is wrong with the process.

Sorry to say but the biggest hurdle in creating a public awareness for our genuine concerns (RESERVATION issue) are Facebook pages, journalists & politicians who cherry-pick a few success stories & romanticize them to a level that makes the public feel we are getting our share, thereby whitewashing the broken system & deceiving the entire population whose only source is your news.

An earnest appeal to the Journalist fraternity, Facebook page administrators & Politicians; For heavens sake, shed light on the agony that is crushing your own people & is about to hit an entire generation of youth. Don't let this pain & struggle go unnoticed. Speak up for the future of motherland.

Today, JKPSC declared the final results of JKAS-2024. Out of the 90 selected, only 34 are from the OM, that is 37.7%.

It's so tough for OM students of J&K to get selected for JKAS that even recently IAS-qualified aspirants with a national rank of 243 for Pulwama failed to make it to the KAS list.

This systematic & institutional apathy & exclusion of OM students from jobs have become so normalised that this exclusion seems like the fate now. What remains there for an OM student except agony!
