Today is Birth Anniversary of Rajiv Ghandy. "Respect" dena toh banta hai. So let's meet wonderful former PM of "India" & his "achievements".

1. Bhopal Gas Tragedy & "Escape" of Warren Anderson

After the 1984 Bhopal gas leak that killed thousands & injured many more, Union Carbide CEO Warren Anderson was arrested, allowed bail immediately & left India same day. Critics have long alleged that Rajiv Ghandy facilitated or failed to prevent his departure & that victims haven't received adequate justice or full accountability.

2. Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka

1987 Indo-Sri Lanka Accord led to deployment of IPKF. Operation resulted in significant Indian casualties (1200+ soldiers killed as per official figures) & ended with a humiliating withdrawal in 1990. A mission poorly planned & ultimately unsuccessful because of political Immaturity & Incompetence of Rajeev Ghandy.
