South Africa’s Statistician-General, Risenga Maluleke, has outlined how the Zimbabwean population in South Africa has trended over the past 30 years:
📌 1996: Around 80,000 Zimbabweans live in SA, 10% of the country’s foreign-born population, the fourth-largest foreign national group.
📌 2001: As Zimbabwe’s economy falls, the number doubles to 161,000 (16.1% of foreign nationals), second only to Mozambicans.
📌 2010: Zimbabweans are the largest foreign national group, numbering 818,900 (43.1% of all foreign nationals).
📌 Latest 2022 Census: SA counts a total 2.4 million foreign nationals, including undocumented migrants. Nearly half (48.5%) are Zimbabweans, about 1.16 million people.

If you have been looking for a job and cannot find one, here is why you should not stress yourself, alongside what you can do about it.
Hiring processes are sometimes so flawed that there is nothing you can do. Some hiring processes are poorly structured and good candidates lose out. In some organizations, interviews are merely a formality because the outcome was already influenced by corruption, favoritism, or nepotism long before candidates walked into the room.
You cannot control those things.
What you can control is this:
1. Fix your CV/Resume professionally.https://t.co/QIV0dGYhBS
2. Tailor your application to each job instead of sending the same CV everywhere.https://t.co/t3UKYgAmlC
3. Build skills that are in demand.
4. Learn how to use AI tools.
5. Make yourself visible online especially on LinkedIn.
6. Practice interviews properly.
7. Apply consistently do not give up.

The only Zimbabwean national party where anyone could be a leader is ZAPU.
ZANUPF is a Karanga/Zezuru party, where other ethnic groups are merely accommodated.
The opposition has not been different!
The main objection to Thokozani Khupe taking over was ethnicity.
Ndebeles are only relevant to these political parties when it is election time.
The unification of ZANU and ZAPU in 1979 failed because the Shonas believed they could go it alone.
Josiah Tongogara was killed because he wanted unity.
The Zimbabwe National Army has always been run by Zezurus and Karangas.
The Manyikas have been badly treated too, there has never been a Manyika in the presidential team.
I know many don’t want to hear this, but that is the truth!!
This is Kavalamanja Primary School in Feira, Zambia. It was built & funded by the Government of Zimbabwe at the cost of $26 000. As Zambians, we are grateful for the gesture of the Zimbabwean Government remembering the role our country played in their independence at this site !!
Dear @nickmangwana
Why is the ZANUPF government angry that Bulawayo Mayor David Coltart met with “King” Bulelani kaLobengula, yet it does not show the same anger towards ZANUPF officials who met with “King” Mutapa at official functions, where he was even wearing a jacket bearing an official government crest and an inscription affirming his claim as King Mutapa?
More importantly, is it appropriate for a cabinet minister like Daniel Garwe to call out “King” Bulelani kaLobengula with insulted like charlatan, a fraud and an impostor?
Is it the right tone or choice of diction expected from a cabinet minister when addressing issues that are rooted in an ethnic group’s culture and traditional sensitivities?
Is it right to insult someone who is respected and held in high esteem for cultural reasons in his community, and why not use language synonymous with a cabinet minister?
Doesn’t the government’s criticism of Mayor Coltart for meeting with “King” Bulelani kaLobengula, while not extending the same criticism to ZANUPF officials who met with “King” Mutapa, raise questions about fairness and equality in acknowledging the significance of cultural figures, regardless of the Constitution’s reading.
Is it not the case, Nick, that your government only began speaking against “King” Mutapa when he spoke out against Emmerson Mnangagwa?
Is it not true that all along you tacitly endorsed his claim by keeping quiet when he was politically aligned with ZANUPF?
Do you realise how painful it is for the Ndebele people to have their cultural representative insulted by a former Rhodesian soldier like Garwe?
Zimbabwe Lost: Listen to the clarity & calmness of this man in articulating efforts being done to bring an independent Zimbabwe. I am in awe of George Silundika & his resemblance to S.B Moyo in voice projection & manner of speaking.
