Airlines talk a lot about “girl power.” But are they listening to what their crew say about third-party cab providers?
Driver behaviour. Safety. Reckless driving. Poor-quality cabs.
Haven’t we all heard about basement scuffles that follow cab drivers’ rude/ uncouth behaviors where male crew members intervened, took matters in their own hands on behalf of colleagues? And loss of lives with no accountability pinned .
Is there a proper redressal system? A performance audit? Accountability?
Or does the contract simply go to the cheapest bidder?
There was a reason airlines once operated their own crew cabs. Safety was one of them.
(Context: an IndiGo cabin crew lost her life while she was driven home after her duty hours - reason for the fatal accident, as per reports, is rash , irresponsible driving. Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends🙏🏼🙏🏼- a young life lost in this manner is always, always very sad and shocking and angers one as well)

Jet Airways' @Boeing 777 finally takes off from Mumbai today-to end up as a freighter
ps: and I sense there's a realisation now (some are even burning midnight oil & keeping others stressed too) that somehow @jetairways should not have been allowed to die.

6 years ago today these crew members operated the last @jetairways flight ever from Amritsar to Mumbai.
It marked the end of an era in Indian aviation.
This is a shoutout for everyone who worked at Jet and made it the world class airline it was.
Thank you
