I was really excited to start reading this Brazilian author who writes thrillers/crime stories. But he can't write a single line about the female characters that is not misogynistic and all characters from Rio are blond/ginger with blue eyes. It feels like a 5th grader wrote it!

@PolyglotChris in Portuguese we have both "confundir" and "enganar" they can both be used when you get confused and make a mistake, but enganar can also mean to deceive someone.

I've just realized the word "contatar" in BR Portuguese is so weird, because I've always said "contactar" and now I found out that's how people write it in Portugal. However "contacto" sounds weird to me, because I say "contato" 🤔

@TomFTL Hahah "contatar"sounds like the person is stuttering. I think "contactar" sounds way better.

@MLautmer That's true! As a Brazilian adding "c" to these words sounds strange. But for some reason "contactar" sounds weird without it. I think I just choose the Portuguese way for that one hahah
