I have #Tourettes. I have been known to infrequently tic the n-word. Have I used a racist slur? Yes, I have. Am I a racist? No, I'm not.

I tic the word "spastic". Have I used an ableist slur? Yes. Am I ableist? No. Heck, I'm #disabled myself.

Those words are ones I know, and I might tic any word I know, because it's in my vocabulary register. I tic "chicken" a lot. I tic "fax machine" a lot too. Those are also in my vocabulary register, so they come out.

The point I'm making is intent, which is one #JamieFoxx doesn't seem to get. I know it's awful and embarrassing for both me & those around me. But I cannot help it.

People laugh at me when I meow, or make clucking noises but #JamieFoxx and his cheerleaders are mistakenly casting intent onto the mix, and it's dangerous to those of us who are afflicted with Tourettes & vocal spasms. I've been threatened. I've been punched by people who didn't understand what it is, and Foxx spreading misinformation only means more danger to those like me.

One of the actors from I Swear, a film about the life of Tourette’s sufferer John Davidson, has come out in support of him following the BAFTAs controversy. The film is based on Davidson’s life, and he also appears in it.

At the ceremony, Davidson was heard shouting several profanities, including a derogatory term aimed at Black people, as a result of his condition.

His co-star stressed that Tourette’s is a neurological disorder people have no control over and that John had every right to attend the BAFTAs.

@virginmedia I’m at work all day tomorrow so Monday would a now the first day I can be home . I already took this afternoon off for the original scheduled appointment and only noticed it was changed when I went to check on the update of the work in the area .

@virginmedia It’s been showing this on and off all week which is why I have mentioned none of my neighbours have had any issues . This has all been an excuse to cancel the engineer visit scheduled for today . Meantime I have no wifi or tv for at least 6 days .

@virginmedia So it says there is no planned work in my area and refers me to the engineer appointment that is scheduled in for Monday .i was told today it’s a problem in the area which is why you rescheduled the appointment . Does anyone there know what is going on????

@virginmedia Done all that . Engineer booked and then cancelled by yourselves as it’s an area problem ! Well my neighbours tv and internet seem fine !! No tv or internet since Wednesday and now engineer not coming until Monday afternoon . Not acceptable
